Part III Sea Glass From Around the World- Russia, Uruguay, and Easter Island

I was going through my collection of sea glass the other day, and found a box of amazing finds from Uruguay.  We went there for a day trip from Buenos Aires.  There are lovely old buildings in the Portuguese style.  I found some interesting tiles and a marble at the harbor, stuck them in a baggie, and kind of forgot about them after I stored them.  Now

I think I will create something with them.

I also found my tiny collection of  sea glass I found on the shores near St. Petersburg, when we visited Catherine's Palace.  I have used some of the glass I found there already in jewelry, but here are a few more.

Lastly, I have a few pieces of sea glass I found near a series of Moai on Easter Island.  Those are the giant statues that face out to the ocean.  I know they are not well tumbled, but still, they are somewhat tumbled by the tides.  Take a look!  There's also a brown tile.

Crocheting A Wire Bracelet Today

I haven't been crocheting wire for a while, but decided to create a bracelet today after one of my shops loved the crocheted pieces I brought in.  Of course, I don't always use sea glass with the crocheted pieces.  The one today is sterling silver with genuine sapphires and peridots as well as Swarovski ruby crystals and onyx crystals.  I am sharing it with you -- but since it requires so much wire, gemstones, and work on my part, it is not for sale.  If you would like a similar piece, just email me for information.  I can also use gold filled or copper wire, pearls, and other crystals.  This is a custom piece.

Waiting No More! Grandson Has Arrived!

Have you ever waited for something to happen, for a phone call, for someone to show up?  It is so hard to do.  You try to keep busy and not think about it.  Yesterday, I was waiting for that new grandchild to be born!  I know, patience is a virtue.  But,  after nine months, it seems this is the longest wait!!

Just saw him today and he is looking great.

Online Shopping Updated Information and Discount

I shop online.  You probably do, too.  So, I have opened an online shop for Lucky Sea Glass Jewelry  in addition to my website.  The storenvy shop makes it easy for international purchases, too.  I will add the links so you can take a look.  If you have any questions, just email me or comment here.

I will be closing the tictail shop --  it gets too confusing keeping track of items in addition to the six brick and mortar shops that carry Lucky Sea Glass!  So there will be just the storenvy shop.  If you like my facebook page, you will receive a code for a 10% discount at the storenvy shop.  You can click on Shop on my facebook page to get to the storenvy shop.  I will be adding items daily!

Couldn't Resist A Pair For Myself!

I have been busy creating new designs with copper and silver aluminum.  I made a pair of earrings for myself, and wore them last night to a dinner, and got lots of compliments.  They are so light and easy to wear, but make a fashion statement.  Tomorrow, I will bring a couple of pairs to one of my shops.  Today, I decided to create a pendant with the silver aluminum and a lovely piece of sea glass from Bermuda.  Another great thing, is that these pieces are fairly inexpensive, compared to the sterling silver and 14K gold filled pieces, so those of you who are watching your budgets (!) can enjoy them.  I always include sea glass in the designs.

A Little Beach Therapy

Here are some views of Cambria, California.  We visited there last year.  I just came across them on my computer files, and had to share.  It was so lovely to stay at a bed and breakfast right near the beach.   I didn't find sea glass, but people were out there looking for moonstones on Moonstone Beach.

Sea Glass From Around The World - Part 2

As promised, I am adding a few more pictures of sea glass I have found.  These are from California, Ohio, and Greece.  Do you see differences?  The ones I found in Greece are pretty well tumbled, but the ones from Coronado, CA are not.

Sea Glass Journey Around The World -- Part I

As you probably know, I travel all over and beachcomb whenever I can.  I have organized my sea glass finds by country of origin, and so I thought I might take pictures of some of these for you to enjoy.  Sea Glass varies, depending upon the chemistry of the water, the glass, the waves, the sand, etc.  Here are a few photos to start your sea glass journey around the world!

Views of Germany

Today, I thought I'd add some pictures from our wonderful wine and gourmet cruise in Germany about a year ago.  There have been a lot of visitors from Germany on this blog.  We cruised on the Moselle and Rhine rivers, and ended up in Cologne.  It was pretty cold (November) and they were setting up for the Christmas markets.   I actually wore my hat from Antarctica while I was there.  Unless you are going for the markets, I would suggest you go during warmer months where there is more daylight, too!  I didn't find any sea or river glass on this trip -- although I did pick up some glass in Rudesheim (spelling?) -- it was alongside the river, but not really tumbled.

Copper Ring, Bracelet, Pendant

I am always experimenting with new materials and designs.  So, now I have a few copper aluminum and copper wire designs to share.  Copper seems to show off the sea glass beautifully.    The pendant is sea glass wrapped with copper wire on a handmade copper aluminum choker.  Prices range from $50 to $98 at http://luckyseaglass.tictail.com

Can You Have Too Much Jewelry?

Here I am, a jewelry designer, collector, and wearer and buyer.  I love that I have collected sea glass and jewelry around the world -- they are the best souvenirs!  Every day I wear at least one piece of Lucky Sea Glass Jewelry  ( for good luck!) but also I have other jewelry that is special to me.

Have you a piece that you received from a dear friend, your mother, your husband or boyfriend?  Maybe it commemorates a special day in your life, a trip, an anniversary or birthday.   As Mother's Day, graduation and other events approach, think about giving jewelry to that someone special.  They will enjoy it for many, many years.

Recently, I gave a pair of Lucky Sea Glass earrings to a friend who turned 70 this year.  She was so thrilled with them it inspired me to create more!!  The gift gave back to me -- and so will yours.  Until April 30, you can use the special code to receive a discount on items at http://luckyseaglass.tictail.com

Greek Sea Glass Bracelet

I have been having fun with aluminum!  Of course, I still add sterling silver or other elements to the designs, but I just designed an adjustable wrap-around bracelet that I will share here.  It is aluminum with sterling silver wire wrapped sea glass I found in Greece.  I am also working on a similar design in copper.  One great thing is that this design will fit almost anyone since you simply squeeze it to your wrist.
