Endless Summer

Wearing seaglass jewelry all year round is like having an endless summer! It always reminds me of some beach setting where I found the seaglass  -- Bermuda, Hawaii, Florida, etc.  Also, I do feel lucky when I wear at least one piece of Lucky Sea Glass.  Now, isn't that a perfect gift?  I will answer your email as soon as possible, but I may be out beachcombing!

Copper and Seaglass

I've been busy drilling and working with seaglass from Greece and copper rollo chain to create a new bracelet.  I added smoky quartz crystals for a little sparkle, too.  Here it is.  I hope you like it!  Available at www.luckyseaglass.com on the bracelet page.

Finding That Perfect Gift

Finding that perfect gift for a special person can be very challenging.  You probably want to find something that is unique and will last for a long, long time.  Maybe, it will conjure up happy memories or future hopes.  Lucky  Sea Glass jewelry can meet these needs and more -- it fits most everyone!  You don't have to worry about the size, and you have a large choice of countries, colors, gold, silver or copper, etc.   I hope you do consider visiting my website for your holiday gifts.  I am happy to help, and if for some reason your giftee wants to return the item, just email me within three weeks after Christmas to arrange the return.  I am happy to say that in five years, I have never had a return!

The symbols of Sea Glass

I have enjoyed creating various designs with spiders, flowers, and sea horses, shells, fish, coral, etc.  Recently, I learned about the symbolism behind these creatures and thought I'd share.  If you know of any other, please comment.

Water --- symbolizes the depth of our knowledge and the unknown.
Fish- symbolize unity, fidelity, fertility, freedom, happiness
Seahorses -- imply strength and power, protection
Starfish - is a universal symbol of divine love, inspiration
spiders -  imply protection
roses - passion and beauty
daisies - innocence
seashells - protection

I think seaglass may be symbolic of endurance, luck, and hope.  At least, that's my theory!

Celebrity Guide, Holiday Fundraiser

Lucky Sea Glass is included in a Holiday Celebrity Gift Guide.  I will add the link soon!  Also, I was invited to show Lucky Sea Glass at a Holiday Artists Party next weekend.  It also will be a fundraiser to help women in need of shelter.  Meanwhile, I am busy restocking the shops that carry Lucky Sea Glass and creating new designs.  I'm even getting to enjoy drilling seaglass, although I still love the wire wrapping.

Soon it will be Hanukah and Christmas!  Please email me if you are interested in a custom made seaglass design at contact@luckyseaglass.com

It's A rt

At the seaglass festival last Saturday, one of my customers said that my Lucky Sea Glass jewelry is not just jewelry, but also art.  I've been thinking about it, and I agree.  I used to paint, and the process is similar when I create jewelry.  I get inspired by a piece of seaglass, then experiment with wiredesigns and gemstones until I am satisfied with the design.  Sometimes I work on a piece, put it aside, and then work with it at a later time with a fresh eye.  Thank you for your comments -  they really do mean a lot to me.

Best Wishes, Happy Thanksgiving, and Good Luck!

I truly hope everyone enjoys Thanksgiving this week.  I will see my two little grandchildren and our family will be together.  Seaglass will take a rest  -- although I will be bringing some designs to one of "my" shops and getting ready for a private charity benefit show in December.

If you have been interested in a particular piece, please email me so I can place it on hold for you.  Each one is one of a kind, of course.  Contact@luckyseaglass.com

Gobi Desert Glass (Mongolia)

Sterling Silver Wire Wrap, Gobi Desert Glass
by Lucky Sea Glass
When we traveled to the Gobi desert in Mongolia, we stayed at the Three Camel Lodge out in the desert, in a ger.  This is a structure like a teepee or igloo, but made of canvas.  I never saw such amazing weather and sunsets.  Storms would roll in the distance, with lightning strikes from purple clouds.  Anyway, while I was there, I hiked to where there are petroglyphs and old burial mounds, and I found a very few pieces of "desert glass".   I figured the storms and floods tumble the glass, just like the oceans do.  Here is one of my Gobi desert designs.  (I only have one other piece to work with, so believe me, this is rare!).

More Bonfire Seaglass

If you enjoy unusual, rare seaglass jewelry - consider bonfire seaglass.  The glass was melted by a beach bonfire (or some other fire) and tumbled by the ocean.  Here's a bracelet I made recently, using California seaglass, a copper bangle, and turquoise beads.  The seaglass has lots of texture.  It is for sale $128 (Free Shipping) and you get Luckyseaglass bucks if you buy by Nov. 27. That means you get 20% of your purchase price in seaglass bucks you can use for a future purchase by Dec. 26. Just email me first at contact@luckyseaglass.com   Thanks.

Beach Wedding Seaglass

Today I attended a beautiful beach wedding on a perfectly sunny day with blue skies, ocean waves, sandy beach and a lovely bride and groom.  Of course, I wore my seaglass necklace and bracelet.  So many people were fascinated by my seaglass jewelry, I felt very complimented. It's always nice to get positive support!

Of course, I am always happy to create custom seaglass jewelry for weddings.
It is great for the entire wedding party.  Maybe I have seaglass from where you will marry or honeymoon.

Genuine Seaglass Jewelry

I know I've written about this before, but it is a Big issue.  When I was in California in September, I went to a gallery that had a line of fake seaglass jewelry, only it was labeled as "seaglass".  Only if you carefully read the back of the jewelry card would  you see that it was made to look like seaglass.
It takes a lot of time and effort to find gem quality seaglass! Why buy fake seaglass when genuine seaglass is so beautiful, and available at reasonable prices?  Please be aware when you are shopping.  And, remember Lucky Sea Glass Jewelry only offers genuine, personally beachcombed handmade jewelry.  Good luck to you.

Travel and Seaglass

As you can tell, I love to travel and also to beachcomb for seaglass wherever I can!  I even look for river glass and also found some Gobi desert glass (I can't call it seaglass!) in Mongolia.  So far, I have seaglass from these states -- Massachusetts, Florida, California, Hawaii, Ohio, New York, and Virginia  and from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Spain, Greece, Romania, Russia, Antarctica, Argentina, Chile.  I've looked in lots of other places, too -- but sometimes just don't find any!  Please share if you know a great place to visit and search for seaglass.  On my website, I give more details as to where to find seaglass.

I Love My New Bracelet

Sometimes I have to create something that I keep for myself -- after making the bracelet posted a few days ago, I decided to make another one -- similar, but not the same -- for myself! I put the first one on my website, if you are interested.  Here's mine!  The seaglass is from Bermuda.

Sapphires and Seaglass Part 2

One of the most popular posts on this blog has been the sapphires and seaglass one, so you have inspired me to create another pair of sapphire and seaglass earrings! The first pair has sold.  These new ones have six beautiful blue sapphires I bought at the gem show that originally come from India.  The large white seaglass pieces are wrapped with 14K gold filled wire -- the seaglass I found at Glass Beach, Fort Bragg, California.  Hope you like them.
