Lucky Sea Glass Logo Earrings!

Logos for brand names are so popular, I decided to create a line of Lucky
Sea Glass logo jewelry, too.  The small silver overlay tags say Lucky Sea Glass Jewelry, and add some shine to the sea glass.  Here are a couple of pairs of earrings I created, using sea glass I found in Hawaii.   Haven't put them up for sale yet, so you are the first to see them.  They will sell for $65.
The silver tags hang straight, sorry about the picture for the second pair.

Mermaid Necklace Just SoldTo Shop in Wisconsin

I have been working on this necklace forever it seems.  First I had to select the sea glass "sticks"  and arrange them so I liked the design.  Then, I carefully drilled holes in each of these pieces.  Then I wire wrapped them to a silver twist chain necklace.  This took days, but I love the way it turned out.  I did also spend time trying to photograph it so you can see the peridots that are on the sea glass pieces.  If you are interested in buying or seeing more photos, please check out my Storenvy shop at http://luckyseaglass.storenvy.com     I beachcombed the sea glass in Puerto Rico!

Frank Lloyd Wright In Wisconsin

I almost forgot to write about our tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed headquarters at S.E.Johnson.  That's the family owned business that has produced a lot of products we all use, including Johnson wax.  Their administrative building near Racine was designed by Wright, and you can tour it with a reservation on Friday morning.  It is amazing as all the futniture, floors, etc are as Wright designed it, and it is still in use after more than 75 years. If you are near it, go ahead and reserve a tour.  It is free.

Recipe to Remove Silver Tarnish

I came across this recipe to remove tarnish, and thought it might be of help.  I have used a commercial product and also tarnish remover cloths with my silver jewelry.  Of course, gold filled jewelry doesn't tarnish!

Aluminum foil
1 TBS salt
1 TBS baking soda
hot water to make a paste

stir and dunk the silver in the solution.  Wipe with the aluminum foil.  There is a chemical reaction.

Thanks for the Good Luck!

Two new possibilities came up this past week, and I don't know what will happen.  One occurred when I was in Wisconsin.  I bought  an item at a boutique, and while I was paying, the owner noticed my sea glass pendant, and complimented me when I told her I made it.  She then asked me if I sell any, and she gave me her card and asked for mine.  So, I am hoping that Lucky Sea Glass may soon be sold in Wisconsin!

The second thing is that I have been contacted by Coastal Living magazine for an article they are doing on sea glass.  Unfortunately, I was away when they emailed and called, so I just saw the messages when I got back.  I am hoping it is not too late for Lucky Sea Glass to be in their article!

This is why I am asking you blog followers and readers to wish me luck!  So these possibilities work out.  Thanks, and I will let you know what happens.:)

I just found out yesterday that I was too late for the Coastal Living photo shoot!  I am so disappointed.   Hopefully, something good will happen soon.

Good luck today.  Received an order for five designs from that shop!

Lake Michigan sea glass

As you can read in my other posts, it was really difficult for me to find any sea glass along the western Lake Michigan shores.  We really tried!  But, luckily, a fellow sea glass collector offered some of his stash, so I thought I'd show you a picture.

Good Luck Sea Glass in Wisconsin

After searching along the Wisconsin Lake Michigan beaches and finding hardly any sea glass, I thought I'd go home with very little.  Surprise!  A Wisconsin sea glass collector contacted me and kindly gave me two full baggies of Lake Michigan sea glass he had found over the years.  This is anothr lucky sea glass story.  I will post pictures soon. Sea glass collectors are often so kind!

Painted Sea Glass

I thought I have written all there is to say about sea glass, but here is something more to watch for.  That is,  sea glass or just glass that has been painted red, yellow, orange, whatever.  This is not genuine, unaltered, natural sea glass. True sea glass artists would never paint it to obtain colors.  It is just another variation of man made or artistic look alikes.  All Lucky Sea Glass colors are genuine, unaltered by me,  created just by the surf!

Wisconsin and Lake Michigan Sea Glass

So  far I have not found any sea glass, but I did tour a submarine in Manitowoc and had anice cream sundae in Twin Rivers where the sundae was supposedly invented.  Have walked a lot of  beaches.  I have found some plastic and one pretty tile on the beach.   Sea glass is hard to find! I will keep looking!

Yay.  Found a couple of smooth pieces today after a lot of beachcombing.  I will put up pictures soon!
