Wish Me Luck!

I am having neck surgery this week, so I probably won't post here for a while.  Hopefully, not too long!

Also,  since I won't be creating new items for a while, I want you to know there are still plenty for you to choose from. I've added new rings to my website and other items to the Storenvy site.   As always, just send me an email if you are interested in an item or just purchase at my website or online store with PayPal.  I will be checking my emails, for sure.

Our visit to Baia Solana, Colombia

This was one of the trip highlights, as our small expedition ship was the first cruise ship ever to visit this small, remote village in Colombia.  They had been planning for our visit for two years!  We were greeted by the entire school population -- kids in their uniforms, singing and playing instruments.  Then given a tour of the school, the fish market, the library, and then the handicraft market and food.  Everyone was so welcoming.  Here is a video and some pictures.

Sea Glass Found in South America

Here are pictures of the various finds along the coast of South America.  We travelled up from Ushuaia, Argentina at the tip up the west coast, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Panama, going through the Panama Canal.  I also found  a lot in Ecuador.  More about the trip later!!

Sea Glass I Found in Ecuador and Blue-footed Boobies

We explored an island off the coast of Ecuador- Isla de la Plata-  and saw nesting blue footed boobies (really!) and I was lucky to find sea glass there, too.  I made one pendant with an Ecuadoran find while on the ship.  Here are some of the pictures.  (Sorry I mislabeled the picture with Peru!!).

These finds are from Ecuador, not Peru!! Got my islands mixed up.

Returning home from South America -- and some pictures for you!

Of course, I took hundreds of pictures during the six week journey in South America -- but I will just post a few here.  It is a challenge getting back home from such a long trip!  Where is everything?  The weather has changed from snow to blossoming trees!  The house next door has sold -- and it wasn't even on the market when we left.  Life goes on.  I will take pictures of the sea glass I found in  Peru, Chile, and Panama soon!!

South American Cruising and Expeditions

There is so much to write about and show that this will take a number of posts.  We started out at the tip of South America, in Ushuaia, and then proceeded up the west coast, through Chile, Peru, Colombia and Panama.  We visited glaciers, remote villages, jungles, rainforests, and transited the Panama Canal.  I found some sea glass on the way, too.  Keep posted!!

Traveling along the coast of Chile

Sea lions, otters, fin whales and  lots of birds, beautiful glaciers and fjords, so I have been busy photographing.  Actually, I found some sea glass at remote Robinson Crusoe Island where Alexander Selkirk was stranded for almost four years and inspired the book.  I will post some pictures, but not too often as internet service is spotty!

Packing Challenges with Lucky Sea Glass

Isn't it hard to decide what to bring, what to leave behind when packing for a trip!  Of course, you have the essentials, but what is unpredictable often is the weather where you are going.  I try to plan for contingencies, like rain, bugs, heat, cold, etc.  That can fill up the bag, though.  I have found that layering works best -- so a short sleeved tee, a long sleeved shirt, a sweater,a pashmina and a light rain jacket usually work.  When we go to South America, we will journey from glaciers to rain forests, so it will be a challenge to pack!  Weight restrictions are also a factor, so while I don't throw fashion out the window, casual will be the norm.  And, of course, always have to wear some Lucky Sea Glass jewelry on my trips.

Florida Sea Glass Pendant

It seems many of you like to look at the Florida posts, so I thought I'd show you my latest design with sea glass I found near Amelia Island.  The SanJon Gallery in Fernandina Beach there sells some of my Lucky Sea Glass designs.   Here is a photo of a mosaic design with blue, amber, aqua, white, and green pieces on a white sea glass background, wrapped with aluminum and non tarnish silver, on a silver plated link chain.
