Heart in Sea Glass

I decided to try and drill a heart into a piece of my Ft. Bragg, CA sea glass.  It was a challenge, but I am happy with the results and will try to make some more sea glass hearts!  What do you think?
I posted this on the Sea glass artists and collectors site and got lots of likes.  So, I just put it up for sale at my Storenvy site (15% off for facebook fans) for $60.  It has a sterling silver bail and is on a silver plated twisted link chain.  Only one of a kind - so if you want it, buy it now.  I am bringing it to my trunk show Nov. 9 and maybe to the Sea Glass Festival, Nov. 15!

Sea Glass Festival and News

Hi everyone,
I have been busy after our trip to Africa!  Also, still coping with my neck problems, but treatment should work soon, I hope.   Anyway, just to let you know -- Lucky Sea Glass will be at the Sea Glass Festival in Maryland on November 15.  I will give you more details soon.  It will be at the environmental center in Grasonville, Md with workshops starting on Nov. 14.  Please stop by and say hi if you  get there!  It is just over the Chesapeake Bay bridge. I will be offering special festival deals.

My other news is that I am running promotions for everyone at my new Etsy shop and my Storenvy store.  Etsy accepts international orders.  I hope to hear from many of you as you start holiday shopping! Remember, wish someone good luck with Lucky Sea Glass.

Wildbeests and Zebras Crossing the Mara River in Africa

It was an amazing sight -- in the morning, we had done a game drive to the Mara River in the Maasai Mara, and were lucky enough to see some zebras going across the river, once they were emboldened.  But, in the afternoon, rather than go on a game drive elsewhere, our fellow travelers all wanted to go back to the river (about an hour, bumpy ride) in the chance that we might see the wildebeests crossing the river.  Well,  we were so lucky!  As we approached the river, we saw masses of wildebeests heading toward the river.  When we got to the point where we could watch them head   toward the river's low point where they could cross, we waited expectantly.

Finally, a few zebra started across, despite an ominous looking croc on the other side.  The wildebeests still hesitated, and some turned back.   But then, a few started across -- and then suddenly there were hundreds crossing -- even babies.  Here is my amateur video and pictures, but I am not sure the video was uploaded.  I will try again soon if it hasn't!

Some Pictures From Africa - Lions

I know many of you are interested in Africa -- it was so amazing to see the animals in the wild.  I can't imagine going to zoos any more.  Here are some pictures of lions --- I have taken thousands of photos, so please keep watching as I go through them!  Here you can see the lions -- mother, father, and cubs!!  I couldn't believe it when they went up on the rock, just like in the Lion King musical!

Africa
is so different from the United States and Europe, as the animals roam freely and the landscapes are so vast.

Africa is next! Wondering Where I have been?

I haven't been posting here too often for the last few months, due to my neck surgery recovery and another neck problem.  But now I am hoping that a treatment next week will soon work!

Our next trip is an African safari, and I want to be in good shape for it!  I am sure to take lots of pictures, so please keep following this blog or visit my page on Facebook. A ny suggestions for Africa?  I don't expect to find sea glass there, but maybe some interesting stones, etc.

Sometimes Retailers Sell Counterfeit Sea Glass Unknowlingly

Thought you might be interested in this -- A few days ago I noticed that Artbeads was selling seaglass beads in every color ---- clearly not real, beachcombed sea glass. So I emailed them about it, and they replied quickly, checked with their supplier who confirmed that it was tumbled glass, not sea glass. Artbeads now advertises the items as glass beads! And, they thanked me for pointing out the issue. So, hooray for Artbeads.

I only use genuine, beachcombed sea glass I have found around the world.  Sale is on now on everything at Storenvy for everyone with code  LSG20

U.S. sales only at this time.                                            Sale

Logo Sea Glass Earrings

The Lucky Sea Glass Jewelry logo designs are popular, so I thought I'd create a couple of more pair of earrings, with sea glass I found in Hawaii.  It took a while to find good matches -- but here they are.  One pair is with aqua sea glass and one is with white sea glass.  Sterling silver wire wrap, silver plated ear wires and logo tag.  They are $75 for the white, $78 for the aqua -- but 20% off until July 20 at my storenvy shop.  Lucky Sea Glass on Storenvy
