Packing Challenges with Lucky Sea Glass

Isn't it hard to decide what to bring, what to leave behind when packing for a trip!  Of course, you have the essentials, but what is unpredictable often is the weather where you are going.  I try to plan for contingencies, like rain, bugs, heat, cold, etc.  That can fill up the bag, though.  I have found that layering works best -- so a short sleeved tee, a long sleeved shirt, a sweater,a pashmina and a light rain jacket usually work.  When we go to South America, we will journey from glaciers to rain forests, so it will be a challenge to pack!  Weight restrictions are also a factor, so while I don't throw fashion out the window, casual will be the norm.  And, of course, always have to wear some Lucky Sea Glass jewelry on my trips.

Florida Sea Glass Pendant

It seems many of you like to look at the Florida posts, so I thought I'd show you my latest design with sea glass I found near Amelia Island.  The SanJon Gallery in Fernandina Beach there sells some of my Lucky Sea Glass designs.   Here is a photo of a mosaic design with blue, amber, aqua, white, and green pieces on a white sea glass background, wrapped with aluminum and non tarnish silver, on a silver plated link chain.

Special Requests Welcome

I love it if you have a specific request in mind.  Recently, someone contacted me because an item that was listed as sold in my shop caught his eye and he wondered if I could make another similar to it. Well, I wasn't sure, but I went through my extensive collection of sea glass and found some possibilities.  I went ahead and created the sea glass necklace, and he purchased it, so it all worked out.  If you see something that is no longer available but you still want one like it,, don't give up!

South America -- Here I Come!

Next trip is a cruise (small expedition ship) along the coast of South America.  We actually go into Chilean fjords to see glaciers and even go through the Panama Canal.  Stay tuned, and eventually I will post pictures here.  Hope I find some sea glass there!  If any of you have suggestions -- please do write to this blog.  You don't have to put your full name on your comment.

Popping a Cork on a Portugal Cruise with Answers.com

Recently, I was invited to be a guest author for Answers.com, which has over 200 million visitors worldwide.  My areas of expertise are cruises and jewelry making  ( both of which I love).  My first article has just been published so I am putting the link here.  It is about cruising the Douro River in Portugal.  I hope you check it out and let me know what you think!

Gold Crocheted Wire Flower for Valentines

I love the challenge of crocheting wire.  Here is a 14K gold filled wire crocheted flower with a freshwater black pearl.  I just put it up on the storenvy site, in the crocheted section.  Remember, if you like Lucky Sea Glass on facebook, you can get a code for 15% off.  The gift is packed in a Tiffany blue and brown gift box.  Enjoy!  http://luckyseaglass.storenvy.com
